SOLAR POWER IRRIGATION FOR EAST AFRICA
ABOUT US

OUR STORY
Millions of smallholder farmers across sub-saharan Africa have inadequate access to a sustainable water source, forced to rely on highly inconsistent rain. Additionally, even during rainy seasons farmers grow crops at the same time, flooding the market simultaneously when crops ripen, depressing product prices and farmers income further.

OUR VISION
We believe in the growth potential of the world’s 100 million smallholder farmers who currently operate at subsistence under unsteady rains and drought risk.
By offering farmers solar water pumps tied with agricultural advisory, we relieve these farmers’ vulnerability, increase their crop-generating capacity, so that they multiply their incomes to life-changing proportions.

OUR TECHNOLOGY
Manufactured by our qualified, local suppliers, our pump works by harnessing solar energy to power a submersible water pump that draws water as much as from 15 meters below the land surface.
The solar panel provides power to the pumps motor, irrigating a 1/4 to 1+ acre plot of land depending on season and water level, so farmers do not have to rely on rainwater.
HOW WE WORK

01 / Pay as you go integration
Pumps are sold to farmers on a Pay-as-you-go basis, so they rent to own after eighteen months of steady payments.
After payments are complete the pump is owned by the farmer.

02 / Agri-business partners
By working with agribusiness partners, we also support delivery of agronomical advisory to farmers to help them on their journey towards higher yield crops.

03 / Data driven returns
The agronomic data dispatched to farmers not only help them in cultivating high margin crops, but also provide greater returns to ensure the required monthly payments are made to Sunny Irrigation.

TECHNOLOGY
